Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations of participants in the Tallahassee Furs (Tallyfurs) community, as well as steps to report unacceptable behavior. The Code applies to the Tallyfurs Telegram Group, Tallyfurs Gaming, and Tallyfurs Discord Server both online and off. It applies to both current and future members (i.e., any participants in our spaces and meets). By choosing to join this community and events, you agree to follow this code as listed below.

 

Community Mission:

To create a safe, welcoming environment to encourage people both in and wanting to explore the furry fandom to have fun and see all of what our fandom has to offer. The encouragement of creative, productive, and enjoyable projects and discussions, as well as building a community around the media we all enjoy.

  • Be welcoming. The Tallyfurs welcomes and supports all backgrounds and identities. This includes, but is not limited to, participants of any age, experience level, nationality, race, ethnicity, religion, ability/disability, gender identity and expression, sexual identity and expression, or level or type of participation in the furry fandom.
  • Be respectful. Not all of us will agree all the time, but disagreement is not an excuse for poor behavior and personal attacks. Harassment, trolling, and derogatory/demeaning speech will not be tolerated, whether the speech is targeting an individual or any group. Flame baiting and mini-modding will not be allowed.
  • Be kind. Do not insult or put down other participants. Respect others’ boundaries in terms of objectionable content. If you’re asked to drop a particularly contentious topic or take the conversation elsewhere, please respect that request.
  • Be ratings-aware. Keep profanity mild and to a minimum; don’t share adult material in the Telegram or general Discord channels. Please be respectful of their age and things that they should not see or hear.
  • Be mindful of conversation. Small talk in Discord and Telegram is fine (even encouraged), but try not to derail discussions, and remember that not every joke that pops into your head needs to be shared.
  • Respect personal propriety. Please maintain professional behavior when at Tallyfurs events and remember that you represent the Tallahassee furry community.
  • Give proper credit. Please give proper credit when posting any art, photos, videos, or text that doesn’t belong to you.
  • No posting with sources. If posting any AI-Generate art, please be sure to clearly tag what it is and the AI model used to credit it.


Our differences can be our strengths. We can find strength in diversity. Different people have different perspectives on issues, and that can be valuable for solving problems or generating new ideas. Being unable to understand why someone holds a viewpoint doesn’t mean that they’re wrong. Don’t forget that we all make mistakes and blaming each other doesn’t get us anywhere.

New Addition:

In accordance with our commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for all members, Tallyfurs is implementing an 18+ policy. To maintain this standard, we now require members to provide identification upon joining. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. A secret chat will be initiated by a moderator upon your request to join.
  2. In this chat, please provide:
    • A picture of your ID with all information except your first name, birthday, and picture obscured.
    • Additionally, include a piece of paper with your Telegram name, the current date, and “TallyFurs” handwritten on it, visible alongside your ID in the picture.
    • Lastly, include a selfie with the ID, ensuring everything but your first name, birthdate, and picture are covered.
  3. Once you have submitted this information, we will verify it and delete the secret chat containing your ID pictures within 24 hours.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in upholding the safety and well-being of all Tallyfurs members.

Harassment includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:

  • Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, physical appearance, race, age, culture, political or religious affiliation
  • Threats of violence, both physical and psychological
  • Incitement of violence and/or deliberate intimidation
  • Unwelcome sexual attention, including gratuitous or off-topic sexual images or behavior
  • Deliberate misgendering or deadnaming
  • Stalking
  • “Doxxing” (revealing private information)
  • Continued sending of private/direct messages sent after a request to cease Sustained disruption of discussions
  • The advocation of hateful ideologies, including open membership in hate groups
  • Flame baiting and mini-modding other members


Unacceptable Conduct: Behavior that is a violation of our code of conduct is as follows, but is not limited to; racism, sexism, discrimination, pedophilia, or adults committing sexual acts with people under the legal age, rape, torture, necrophilia, bestiality, and/or the use/ownership of illicit drugs. Advocacy does not include the depictions of these subjects within works written by members or prospective members promoting their own written works with depictions of these subjects. However, a forewarning is required before posting such material and must be approved by a member of the moderation team. Reporting inappropriate behavior: As the group has neither the capacity nor the desire to monitor members’ activity in every public space, the moderators shall only investigate behavior once a complaint is received. Any group member can make a complaint anonymously and contact an admin via private message Discord or Telegram. Provide as much detail as you can, including screenshots or copied chat text; the admin will review the situation and take appropriate action. Notice regarding complaints: All complaints will be discussed by the moderator team to make sure that all moderators are aware of situations that have arisen in the chats.

AI-Generated Content: No use of group photos, artworks, text, fursuits, or etc may be used in generative AI models without explicit written consent.

Actions: Actions may include warnings, temporary or permanent bans from any or all Tallyfur groups, activities, and/or revocation of Tallyfurs membership. Specific actions taken are at the discretion of admins, moderators, and officers, based on the judged severity of the behavior. Consequences May Include: First Strike – Muted for 3 days, Second Strike – Muted for 7 days, Final Strike – Ban
